To enhance creativity among students, an ‘Inter Club On the Spot Painting Competition’ was
organized in Presidium Hisar for the students of Grades 6 to 8 on the topics like Protect Wildlife, Education for all, Future City, etc. In the preliminary round, the students were selected to represent their respective clubs. They were all very excited to showcase their creative talents.The final round witnessed creativity exploding in every piece of art. It was a wonderful opportunity for all the young artists to think out of the box. The competition not only served its sole purpose but also gave them a platform to display their vivid ideas and learn more by interacting with others. It also enhanced awareness among students regarding the topics they artistically presented. It was a fun filled educational competition where in students mesmerized everyone by their amazing creations and the best performers were chosen and awarded in school assembly by the Principal, Ms. Ragni Mansukhani. She appreciated the efforts of students and acknowledged all of them for their brilliant efforts.

STUDENTS ACE THE ART OF PUBLIC SPEAKING AT ELOCUTION COMPETITION

Admiration comes easy to a person, who is endowed with the fine art of public speaking, who adorns common thoughts with the grace of elocution, and the elegance of style. To enhance confidence and public speaking skills, Presidium School organized an Inter Class Elocution Competition for Grades 4 and 5. Children participated enthusiastically and gave beautiful speeches on personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Virat Kohli, Narendar Modi. Students also showcased their talent by talking on topics like Discipline, Friendship, Family. The judges were enthralled by the performance of the leaders of tomorrow. Three best performers from each class were declared winners by the Principal, Ms. Ragni.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON BAISAKHI AND AMBEDKAR JAYANTI

The month of April marks two important events ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’ and ‘Baisakhi’. A special
assembly was recently organized by the students of Grade 9 in order to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar and his contributions for the people of India and to celebrate Baisakhi which marks the Sikh New Year and commemorates the formation of Khalsa Panth of warriors under Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. The assembly was held on April 11, first half of the assembly dealt with the purpose of observing ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’. The students of Grade IX presented a speech which underlying the principles and contribution of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar in drafting Indian Constitution. Second half of the assembly blossomed the environment with magnificent ‘Bhangra’ to celebrate Baisakhi to spread happiness and joy.
To reinforce and assimilate the knowledge gained, an open quiz was conducted which made the
environment very lively and interesting.

‘And now we welcome new session full of things that have never been. I close my eyes to old ends and open my heart to new beginnings.’
The beginning of a new session is always an auspicious time - a time for new hopes and renewed dreams. Its the time to enter the School with new energy and fresh new vibes. It is that time of year again where we wake up early, all happy and cheerful, anxious for the day to start —“The First Day of School!” Excitement and enthusiasm was high among the students where there was an eagerness to meet the friends as well as admission to the new level. A Special Welcome Assembly of the session was addressed by the Principal, Ms. Ragni Mansukhani where she welcomed new students and congratulated the old students on graduating to higher classes. The children were inspired by teachers with a beaming smile as they walked in. The day kicked off with positivity and cheer. Teachers were seen making students comfortable and cozy in their new classrooms. They were engaged in various activities throughout the day. Everyone was feeling excited and felt glad to meet their old friends, new teachers and a new schedule. Welcome cards were given as a gesture to build a strong student teacher bonding. “Grooming you” session was done in the class as suggested by our principal, Ms. Ragni Mansukhani. After recess, students were engaged in games like Atlas, sit/stand, Thumbs up etc. The first day ended with fond memories to be cherished forever. We all look forward for a bright year ahead and make it productive and inspiring for our children. Presidium, Hisar welcomes all the students to the new academic session and wishing good luck!

The celebration of Holi is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil, a carnival of colors, a community festival, and a tradition of ancient spring rites. Presidians conducted a special assembly on this occasion which was an amalgam of entertainment and information. To understand the religious significance of Holi and commemorate the victory of good over evil, the students presented speeches and emphasised the need for precaution and safety. There was a quiz conducted on facts on Holi. The assembly ended on a note of high spirit and energy with a riveting dance performance by the students.

“A day full of colours! A day full of excitement! A day full of wishes! Yes, it’s Holi! A day to rejoice love! Happy Holi” This enthusiasm increased manifold due to the presence of our worthy chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. Our school experienced a true explosion of colours and music which amplified with the dance to the rhythm of dholak and singing of traditional folk songs in melodious pitch. This was combined with tasty flavor of Gujiya and pakoras. Sudha Ma’am congratulated and wished everyone’s life to be as colourful as the vibrant colours of Holi. It was another great day in the diary of Presidium, full of fun and laughter which reenergized everyone and filled the hearts of Staff with love and happiness.

The honourable Chairperson of Presidium and Mother’s Pride is an educationist par excellence who believes in the power of ‘being’. With an aim to inspire teachers, Ma’am conducted a motivational and life altering session for the teachers of Presidium Hisar on the ‘Power of Being’. Ma’am shared tips on how to build emotional strength through 10 Mantras and 3 Gurumantras and her inspirational thoughts generated a sense of positivity among the teachers. The ‘high on emotions’ seminar made our teachers think about how their feelings and mood affect their lives and impact how they form strong relationships. The powerful mantras helped learn the ways to not let people, situations and circumstances affect them. They learned how to throw away the negativity and have an open mind to life. Towards the end of the seminar, the teachers shared how they felt better equipped to handle situations. The glow of positivity on the faces of the audience indicated how the seminar helped in motivating teachers and making them powerful beings.

CELEBRATING THE POWER OF WOMEN ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

“A woman is a symbol of love, God’s finest and beautiful creation”. To help people find inspiration and courage from diverse women role models is a very important task. It is for this reason that a special assembly was conducted in the premises of Presidium Hisar celebrating International Women’s Day. The assembly commenced with an invocation to the almighty in the form of prayer, the students then shared the significance of the day through their thoughts, speeches and further conducted a quiz based on some general facts about International Women’s Day. The Principal, Mrs. Ragni Mansukhani appreciated the efforts of children, their expressions and ideas. She expressed that it is an important occasion for all of us to pause for a moment to reflect on ourselves, to appreciate how much has been done and what more needs to be done in the field of gender equality. Moreover, it is the day to acknowledge all the men and women in the world for making this world a better place for everyone to live in.

PBL: PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT ‘RESTAURANT’ WITH A HANDS ON ACTIVITY

‘Learning is a process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience’. Having learnt all about the theme ‘Restaurant’ included in the curriculum of PBL, now it was the time to apply their knowledge, skill and hard work by conducting a ‘Tasting Event’ as a part of culmination of the project. Each and every student of Grade 4 took part in the activity with great zeal and enthusiasm. Different roles were allocated to the students to make them understand their value and importance in the running of a restaurant. The students not only played their part with great sincerity and dedication, but they also learnt to work collaboratively as a team to complete this challenge. Learning about various concepts like experience writing, poster making, computing bills and healthy food were taught through this activity. The children learnt these concepts through experiential learning which is the methodology followed in Presidium. The kids enjoyed this activity thoroughly and showed that learning could be so fun.
