Tiger is the national animal of India and half of world’s wild tigers reside in this country. On the occasion of International Tiger Day 2018, students of grade 2 conducted a special assembly to raise awareness about tiger conservation. Students read out an article pertaining to the theme of the emblematic tiger and a stirring poem to motivate all to become sensitive to the cause, especially, the youth as they are the future stakeholders of the country. The students pledged to save tigers and raise awareness about their importance in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

Keeping in this inspirational quote in mind, the students of Presidium Hisar organised a special assembly on Kargil Vijay Diwas. It is important for all of us to understand that we sleep in our houses without any worry because the soldiers are awake at the borders to ensure our safety. The students presented a thought provoking mime portraying the life of a soldier and how in Kargil War, India emerged victorious. They amazed the audience by their scintillating performances depicting patriotic fervour and the strong feeling of unity and brotherhood among the people of our country.

On the occasion of Friendship Day, Presidium Hisar celebrated the everlasting bonds of camaraderie with great zeal and excitement. A special assembly was presented by the students of grade 2 to mark the special occasion. The students joyfully explained the significance and importance of friendship through a wonderfully refreshing and touching tale of the eternal bond of true and divine friendship between Shri Krishna and Sudama. Later, the spirit of Friendship enlivened all as they exchanged friendship bands and warm hugs with each other to embrace their love, togetherness and promises.

DEBATE COMPETITION: PRESIDIANS BATTLE FOR & AGAINST THE TOPICS

‘It's better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.’
Debate is an art of reasonable discussion of topics, that helps us to become morally aware and enhances the ability to think critically. Presidium always lays an emphasis on the overall development of each and every child, which is why we recently organised an ‘Inter Club Debate Competition’ for the students of grade 9 & 10. The preliminary round was held before hand and the shortlisted candidates appeared for the final round with great enthuse. Students were judged on the basis of content, communication of thought and emotion, logical argument, body language, confidence and delivery etc. All the participants tried to deliver the best. It was very difficult to decide the best speaker amongst them all. However, the the title of the best club went to Victor Club, Mudit of grade 9 won the best speaker (Favour) and Keshav Bansal was the Best Speaker(against). Congratulations to all the winners.

Day’ and ‘International Mandela Day’ were celebrated with great enthusiasm at Presidium, Hisar by the grade 4 students recently. The assembly started by praying to the almighty for blessings, followed by a small speech on Nelson Mandela. Further, a beautiful presentation of different skills was displayed. The students shared their views on the significance of the day. By their active participation and presentations, they motivated the audience on how youth can be a major boon in the prosperity of a nation and the difference that young people can bring by following great minds, like Nelson Mandela.

INTRACLASS COLORING COMPETITION TURNS IMAGINATION INTO REALITY

‘Coloring is all about creativity. It promotes fine gross and motor skills.’
With the idea of using coloring as an alternative and noteworthy classroom teaching tool, an ‘Intraclass Coloring Competition’ was conducted recently in Presidium, Hisar for students of grade nursery & prep. The little artists enjoyed the freedom to select the colours of their choice and use their creativity to present their best work. It helped them to explore new ideas and develop a sense of recognising different colours & combinations. It was difficult for the teachers to choose the winner as every child participated with zeal & presented a beautiful art piece. It was an amazing experience to see the Presidiams coming out of their shells and performing with deep interest & excitement.

Presidium, Hisar completely believes in this quote, which is why, we recently conducted rigorous training sessions for the teachers about knowing the organization, its policies and procedures, understanding children, different needs of diverse learners and usage of teaching learning material, etc. The topics covered in the trainings included talk on the purpose of education and job of a teacher, importance of a teacher in a student’s life and in building the nation, significance of the usage of teaching learning material in the classroom in the experiential learning curriculum adopted by the school and the benefits it provides to the children by helping the children develop their gross motor skills, enhancing eye hand coordination and improving thinking abilities as well. The training sessions were fruitful in making the teachers more self-reliant and cognizant.

Every child has a hidden artist in him and to explore the creative potentials in the young minds of our students of grades 1 to 3, an Intra-Class Drawing and Colouring Competition was conducted in the premises of Presidium, Hisar. It was a day when creativity could be seen exploding in every piece of art as the children got the opportunity to think out of the box. The competition not only served its sole purpose of giving wings to the imagination of young Presidians, but also gave them a platform to display their vivid ideas. The children showcased their creative skills in drawing and colouring and came up with amazing art work. This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation by all the students.

A fun-filled food fair was recently organized at Presidium, Hisar by the students of grade 3 to reinforce the learning of an important theme ‘food’ included in their curriculum. The main objective behind the event was to make the Presidians aware about the various food items and the cultures they
belong to. The fair was conducted with great fervour and exuberance as the students brought the signature dishes of major Indian states such as Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Kerala. Everyone actively participated in the activity and were curious to know more about popular food items of different states.
