PRESIDIANS PROVE THEIR METTLE IN SPELLATHON COMPETITION

In the age of auto-correct, predictive text and spell check, a Spellathon Competition for students of grades 1-5 was held at Presidium. Students participated with great enthusiasm and dueled through the toughest words to prove their mettle. The audience was also abuzz with excitement, cheering for their favorite contestant and trying to answer. It was a nerve-wracking task to reach the top two final positions. The competition made students aware of spellings and the usage of many unfamiliar words. It was a wonderful learning experience not only for the participants but also for their peers and served to enrich the vocabulary bank of the students.

QUIZ COMPETITION ENHANCES KNOWLEDGE OF PRESIDIANS

Presidium organized a Quiz Competition for the senior students. Our fervent participants in each house gave a tough battle to each other with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. They showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. Participation in these types of activities inculcates self-confidence and enhances overall knowledge. It was a very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants along with the audience. We encourage such positive competitions to bring out the best in all its students through such competitive events, while ensuring that the children learn through all possible ways- not just through books and classroom teaching.

CHILDREN’S DAY: A HIP-HOP HAPPY TIME FOR PRESIDIANS

Presidium celebrated Children's Day with a lot of fanfare. The theme for the day was ‘love’. The little munchkins of grade 2 were attired in colourful costumes. The young Chacha Nehru took the heart away. The teachers came up on stage, and in their own unique way expressed their love for the students. ANNUAL SPORTS DAY FOSTERS SPORTSMANSHIP IN PRESIDIANS

The gathering of the much-awaited Annual Sports Day was addressed by the Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta who inspired the students to strive for excellence in all their endeavours. This was followed by a spectacular and well synchronized March Past by the six Clubs. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Principal. This was entailed by the track events wherein the participants participated with full vigour. This was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the Chairperson gave away medals and trophies to the sports event winners. To add to the excitement, the audience witnessed aerobics, unique folk dances from Goa, Punjab & Uttar Pradesh and a heart-touching patriotic dance performance performed by our very own Presidians which held everyone captive.

PRESIDIANS SPREAD MESSAGES OF ONENESS ON GURU NANAK JAYANTI

On the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Presidians organized a special assembly. The pure and innocent hearts spread the message of oneness and compassion with their adorable performances. The students came dressed in traditional Sikh attire and the assembly commenced with a prayer followed by useful information relating to the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Little minds beautifully taught the importance of a Guru in our lives. They also presented the Bhangra to the traditional Bhangra drum beats which brought charm in Assembly. The foot tapping music added to the ambience.

National Unity Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The day was celebrated in a befitting manner and the message of unity, integrity and security of the country was conveyed by students of grade 5 in a special assembly. Students participated wholeheartedly and showed a beautiful portrayal of our Iron Man, his strife and his life. The assembly wrapped up with the message to embrace unity, avoid racialism and learn co-operation.

ECO FRIENDLY DIWALI: LET’S FILL OUR HOMES WITH PRAYERS AND LIGHTS

Diwali, the festival of lights, came alive at Presidium when the whole school wore a festive look with pots, diyas, lanterns and rangoli adorning the reception and corridors of the school. A special assembly was conducted with great enthusiasm by the Presidians of grade 2. These sparkling stars talked about the significance of the festival, and how Diwali is celebrated. The scenes from the classic story of Ramayana were depicted by them through a play showing the birth of Lord Rama to his return to Ayodhya after his exile. The confident speakers also emphasized not to burn crackers and to celebrate ‘Environment Safe Diwali’. A scintillating dance performance by the students in the end added much exuberance and joy to the assembly.

UN DAY: LANGUAGES OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD

The month of October marks an important International event ‘The United Nations Day’ which is celebrated on 24th October 2019. A special assembly was organized by the students of grade 8. The students shared the agenda of UN which is to promote human rights, diversity and progress across the world. The assembly dealt with the aims and achievements of the United Nations on the theme ‘Languages of Indigenous People all over the world’. In order to reinforce and assimilate the knowledge gained, an open quiz and a speech was conducted which made the environment very lively and interesting.

Recycling turns things into other things, like Magic. Our junior artists proved possibilities are endless by displaying their creativity and imagination in ‘Best Out Of Waste’ competition organized by Presidium, Hisar for Grades 1 to 3. The objective of this activity was to create love for environment by making best out of waste with help of recyclable things. ‘Waste isn’t waste until we waste it.’ Things which are waste in our day to day life were used in a constructive manner. Little hands and imaginative minds together came up with very innovative and unique pieces of art from different waste material.

GIRL CHILD DAY: PRESIDIANS COMPREHEND THE NEED TO EMPOWER GIRLS

Girls are an unscripted and unstoppable force for social change. Presidians of grade 6 conducted a special assembly on on International Girl Child Day based on the theme of Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable. The assembly started with the morning prayer followed by the news headlines and an inspirational thought for the day. To enrich the vocabulary of the students, a new word was introduced with its meaning and usage. A spectacular speech was delivered on the importance of girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. A motivational poem was recited to illustrate that girls are rising in every sphere of life and they are truly indomitable. A soul stirring dance performance was also presented in the end depicting the importance of girl child and her right to be born.
