"The English language is a work in progress. Have fun with it." - Jonathan Culver
To have fun with the English while developing the fluency and vocabulary in this extraordinary language, a weeklong celebration of English Week was recently organised by Presidium Hisar. An array of interesting activities was conducted to promote and appreciate the use of this language by the English team. To familiarize the students with the importance of poetry and drama in English history, students were indulged in enthusiastic poetry recitations and an inter-club English skit competition.
Teachers were astounded to see their gifted students performing on the stage with such language fluency. A big highlight of the week was the English story writing competition, which provided a fine platform to the students to show their writing skills and give wings to their imagination. Participating in various English competitions not only increased students’ repertoire of knowledge, but also boosted their self-confidence. The daily assemblies in this week included ‘Word of the Day’ and an interactive discussion on the theme ‘English is window to the world’. Brain teasers, puzzles and riddles were also an enthralling part of the everyday school assembly. Serving as a bee-hive of enjoyable activities, it was a wonderful brainstorming and educative week that facilitated fun with words, learning the different usages of new words in our vocabulary basket and much more!
