“Oceans are the lifeblood of the planet Earth and humankind.”
Presidium celebrated World Oceans Day during the online classes with the theme “Together we have the Power to Protect the Ocean.” A special assembly was conducted wherein the teachers educated the students that World Oceans Day is globally marked every year on 8th June and the Oceans are the heart of our Planet! A plethora of activities were conducted to sensitize students and create awareness about the importance of marine life in Oceans. Students of Grades 1st to 7th did Role Plays on topics such as – Feelings about Deadly Oil Spills, Dumping plastic waste in Oceans, Overfishing by Humans, Conversation of a doctor and a patient on consuming contaminated seafood and the latest news on ‘Yaas’ and ‘Toutey Storms.’ An Intra Class Speech Competition was conducted on the topic- “Oceans: A Game Changer” for the students of Grade 8, a quiz competition for students of Grades 9 and 10. Through all these activities, the students were intrigued to find the many roles the oceans play, many negative impacts caused by we humans on the environment and ocean.
