"One individual may die; but that idea will, after his death, incarnate itself in a thousand lives." - Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
December 16, 2017 marks the 46th anniversary of Vijay Diwas, the day the Pakistan Army in East Bengal surrendered before Lt. Gen. J.S. Aurora, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command, in 1971. A new nation was born after a struggle which lasted but a few months and had its roots in the Pakistan general election of December 1970. To pay tribute to the martyrs and their sacrifices, a special assembly was recently conducted by grade 2 students at Presidium, Hisar. The assembly commenced with candle lighting, a patriotic thought and a GK quiz. Next, a dance performance by students on the patriotic song 'kadmon se kadam milte hai' instilled a proud feeling of nationalism in everyone’s heart. It left everyone awestruck and imbibed love for the nation in the tender hearts of Presidians.
